Over the years this blend of wine was referred to as Claret and sometime Hermitage, and it has long roots in the history of the Barossa. Some fine examples and some well earned reputations were formed by creating iconic examples of Shiraz & Cabernet.
We’re pleased to share this unusual collection of unlabelled/unbranded vintage wines ranging from 1987 – 1998 which was produced by the original vineyard owner using fruit within a small radius of the Chateau here in Lyndoch.
The collection has been cellared and undisturbed for many years, and slowly released for local and international sales.
Some of these wines are over 30 years of age, and having cork closures, bottle variation and being cleanskin, we decided to clear the remaining stock and very competitive prices.
There are some crackers among these wines which bring smiles to many of our regular clients, but then some are a bit tired with less fruit so perhaps better destined for cooking with.
Either way it’s a bit of fun and an interesting part of Barossa heritage.
Hope you enjoy.
